Pass the Offertory collection, hand out bulletins, take head count. When necessary, assist with seating and be alert to emergencies, calling 911 if necessary. Head ushers have a few additional duties, depending on the Mass. Time commitment: the duration of the Mass itself plus 10 to 15 minutes before Mass, and a few minutes after Mass, usually one Mass per week.
