New ministry helping parishioners age in place
Do you or a loved one want to stay in your home, but realize you may need some extra assistance with basic home maintenance? St. Paul’s has a new ministry to help elderly and/or handicapped parishioners with basic home maintenance to enable them to age in place and remain independent in their home. The ministry provides services such as: change light bulbs, change HVAC filters, check for leaks around toilets and sinks, visually check areas inside and outside for making homes safer, test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, check fire extinguishers, install safety bars in showers, and more. Under this concept, the recipient would purchase the needed equipment, but the ministry volunteers would provide the labor at no charge. Contact the church office at 727-822-3481 or parishoffice@stpaulstpete.com to request help and or become a member of the ministry. To become a member of the ministry, you will need to complete the diocese’s Safe Environment Training.
