The mission of the Columbiettes is to serve our church and our community primarily in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, but also on our own. As we grow, we will continue to do more and more in our community. We wanted to highlight for anyone interested, the functions we have been involved in thus far, to give everyone a better idea of what we are all about.
Our more recent accomplishments:
· This past spring between our Easter Lily Sale, Silent Auction & “Mulligan’s” at the Knight’s Golf Tournament we raised over $2000.00 · We started our summer with praying the Rosary for members, their families & parishioners. It has become a weekly gathering every Thursday, 3:15 pm in the Chapel in the parish center opened to all members, their families & parishioners; everyone is welcomed to join us · July we held our second annual Bunco party for fellowship, and to invite the women of the parish for a fun evening, we had more than 40 join us on a rainy Saturday night and it was such a success we will be scheduling more Bunco parties thru out the year · We collected change in baby bottles for Pregnancy Plus · Congratulations to 4 new members who joined us by completing their First Degree August 12 · September’s meeting welcomed back members to our first “working meeting” where we packed 15 boxes for our “Treats for the Troops” project of things we collected this summer. · Our charitable donations spent in September include $1000.00 to St Paul’s School Tuition & Scholarship fund, $800.00 to St Paul’s conference of St Vincent de Paul, $500.00 to Jubilee Celebration of the Religious Sisters, Brothers & Priests of Diocese of St Petersburg · This fall our community service will continue with St Paul’s School Spelling Bee in collaboration with the Knights of Columbus, serving dinner with Loaves & Fishes, Delivering & Caroling to the homebound at Christmas time. · The next fundraiser is our Annual Yard Sale October 27th.
As our membership continues to grow and prosper it is through the generosity and hard work of our members that we can accomplish so much, thank you ladies – Great Job! |
