President’s Message

9/2007

Hello Sister Columbiettes

As we come together for a “new year” with new officers and committee chairs, we must extend a big thank you to our founding officers & members.  Without their courage, leadership and enthusiasm we would not have our strong foundation.  Thank you to Mary Rachel Dudley, Mary Carney, Joan Walker, Regina Macolino, Heidi Sutton and Sister Kathleen and all the Sister Columbiettes of St Paul’s #13657.  Our new officers, Joan Walker, Jeanne Davison, Susan Rebera, and Carmen Needham, Joanne Terlip and Sister Kathleen and our committee chairs have been hard at work this summer helping to make our auxiliary grow and prosper.

Our fundraising foundation is in place for this year. The Fall Yard Sale, Poinsettia & Lily Sales, Silent Auction & Mulligan’s at the Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament are set, so we can now concentrate on membership, spirituality and community.

We started the summer with a weekly Rosary.  We concentrate on the prayer requests for our members, their families and parishioners.  At our first meeting on September 4th, we handed out membership folders and a Columbiettes calendar to all our members to help keep them up to date and informed.

New, this year, we will have working meetings and field trip.  We stared with packing “Treats for the Troops” at the September meeting.  Our first field trip will be in October, starting with a Rosary at the Grotto and our meeting following at the Convent.

We are in the research and development stage for a new spring project and will continue with some of our established projects. Financially, we continue to serve our community with charitable donations.

This summer we lost two wonderful members. Our own Dorothy Kozak and our Supreme President Theresa Trumball, May God rest their souls and let the perpetual light shine upon them.

We couldn’t accomplish any of this without the continued hard work and support of our members. Thank you for your generosity.

God’s Blessings to you & your families,

Malinda Larson Hill
